Well, today is Field Day at Joshua's school. It's from 9:30-12:30 and I can't wait to go and get in on the action! I'm so very proud of my boy; he has come such a long way. Even though he doesn't talk and seems to be in his own world most of the time, the Lord seems to be "waking" him up from what seems a long dreamy sleep. He looks at me more often now. He gestures, he's been eating Jimmy's cavatelli (hand-cranked cavatelli, by the way lol) and is just HAPPY.
I cam across a verse today that kinda struck me. The Spirit led and made me think of something about this verse:
"And anyone and everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for My name’s sake will receive many [even a hundred] times more and will inherit eternal life. " (Matt 19:29 AMP)
You know, those of us who have autistic children sometimes feel that they have "left behind" many a thing: dreams, about who they want their child to be, about the future; hope, about what we wanted in store for our little ones, etc. But there is a promise here! (Boy do I love promises!!) We who have left behind dreams and hopes for "what could have been" can now say that we can claim God's promise that we will recieve 100 times over here on earth and in heaven - blessings - and most importantly - ETERNAL LIFE.
You could be saying to me, blessings?? Having a child who doesn't hardly know me is a blessing? Well, it can be, if you look at it from God's point of view. See, He's saying here that if we "leave" our what should have been's
at the foot of His cross, then we are then ready to recieve blessings 100 times over! Praise the Lord Jesus that He has given us this blessing and promise today!
Lord Jesus, thank you that I can claim Your promise that if I leave my hopes and dreams for my child in Your hands you will give me riches and blessings 100 times over! In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
