Well, I went to church with just James today since Joshua is not feeling well. Due to his autsim he has terrible constipation.
I called the Dr. this morning since it's been since Tuesday that he has gone. She said to double his Miralax dose (I usually give him 1 capful, now they want two) but I really don't think that will do anything. SO... that means Josh is staying home from school (ugh!). I am praying that my pediatrician will call a GI specialist and make an emergency appt. for Joshua. Let's see what happens.
Anyway....
I brought James to church today - he was pretty good! Brought a fire truck with him :) But what a service! We focused on the "worship psalms" like Psalm 80 that really just talks about how great God is just for who He is. And I know that I don't praise and worship Him enough.
He gave us a challenge this week to read the Word and come up with some things that would be worshipful to the Lord (boy...that's not gonna be hard!)
I am reading a new book called "Finding God in Autism". What a book! It talks about how this woman who has a son with autism gave God 40 days of her life to take communion, read the word and pray over her son. She has given ME a challenge: to do three things that I usually don't do and read the book as I go along.
The three things that I plan on doing are:
- praying over my son as he is asleep at night in his crib
- reading the Word on a daily basis
- fasting from chocolate. I knowthat sounds funny but I love chocolate, but for the sake of giving myself totally to God for 40 days, He's led me to do this. OK, so my fast will be starting today and ending JULY 1st.
The verse for day #1 is Romans 12:2:
"Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]." (Amplified Bible).
I can't wait to read it and start my 40 day journey. Come along with me! :)
Blessings!
